Parenteral chemotherapy drugs are usually available on request for individual patients except dose-banded preparations (doxorubicin, vincristine and cyclophosphamide). Chemotherapy and immunomodulating drugs are hospital only drugs which may only be prescribed by those who have received training and are deemed competent to prescribe cytotoxic and immunosuppressant drugs. These drugs must only be initiated by a consultant or SpR’s or equivalent in their relevant specialty.
